13th Symposium on Innovation and Automation in Remanufacturing

Remanufacturing is one of the keys for developing circular economy technologies. Used parts of electronic or mechanical products can be made new again, sometimes even with a specification better than the original parts. In order to reach this aim very sophisticated processes containing inspection, disassembly, cleaning, reprocessing and assembly/testing are necessary.

We are pleased to announce the 13th Symposium on Innovation and Automation in Remanufacturing, organized by Prof. Matthias Vette-Steinkamp and Prof. Wolfgang Gerke from Trier University of Applied Sciences – Environmental Campus Birkenfeld, in collaboration with remanufacturing expert Mr. Fernand Weiland.

The highlight of the symposium will be the presentation by Gregory Planche from Valeo Lighting Systems, Bobigny (France), titled:

"Circular Headlamp: Covering the Full Life Cycle in Automotive Design".

He will discuss innovative strategies for designing durable, repairable, and recyclable automotive lighting systems—supporting the transition to a more sustainable automotive industry.

Additional renowned panellists (Joseph Kripli, president of Apra and Fernand Weiland) will also contribute to the symposium, with further details to be announced soon.

The video conference will take place on November 21, 2024, at 13:30 CEST, and will last approximately 1 hour. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during the event.

We are grateful for the continued support from ReMaTec, APRA, FIRM, and the European Remanufacturing Council (ERC).
