Welcome to the Symposium for Innovation and Automation in Remanufacturing

Keynote speakers

Prof. Dr.-Ing.
Rolf Steinhilper

Rolf Steinhilper, meanwhile a 70 years old retired University Professor for Manufacturing and Remanufacturing Technology, has been observing and supporting remanufacturing for more than five decades – longer than most people. His early years as an engineering student fixing car breakdowns to make a living made him a highly motivated reman enthusiast, promoting Early Bird R&D first in Europe and later – with his team of then 44 experts – offering technological knowhow and consulting to the industry worldwide for half a century.

His books presenting reman as both economically profitable and ecologically sustainable were published in English, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and more…He won the “Remanufacturer of the year” Global Award in 2017 and was Introduced into the Remanufacturing Hall of Fame. His Welcome Address will start our symposium.

Prof. Dr.-Ing.
Carsten Bücker

In 2008, Professor Carsten Bücker assumed the role of a lecturer „Service Engineering & Product Life Cycle“ at the Chair of Environmentally Compatible Production Technology at the University of Bayreuth. In this academic position, he plays a major role in shaping the understanding of environmentally friendly production techniques, sharing his knowledge and insights with the next generation of engineers. He also won the “Remanufacturer of the year” Global Award in 2009.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Carsten Bücker, as founder and managing partner of several companies, including the Carsten Bücker Cooperation (CBC), has established an innovative competence center for turnkey plants for emission-free energy supply and off-road drive solutions. CBC not only supports its customers through international aftersales organization, but also acts as a service provider that assists them in implementing their customer and product-specific recycling strategies.
